Faculty member Miguel Zenón and alumni Sarah Jarosz ’13 and Antonio Sánchez ’98 MM received nominations for their solo and collaborative work.
The nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards have been announced, and NEC Jazz faculty member Miguel Zenón, CI alumna Sarah Jarosz ’13, and jazz drummer and composer Antonio Sánchez ’98 MM received nominations for their solo and collaborative work. The 64th Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on January 31, 2022.
Zenón received a nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album for El Arte Del Bolero with pianist Luis Perdomo.
Jarosz was nominated for Best Folk Album for Blue Heron Suite.
Sánchez was featured alongside Derrick Hodge with Vince Mendoza and Czech National Symphony Orchestra on Concerto For Orchestra: Finale, composed by Vince Mendoza, which was nominated for Best Instrumental Composition.
This is the latest Grammy Award nomination for all of these talented musicians, who have previously earned multiple nominations and wins. Most recently, earlier this year Sarah Jarosz won a 2021 Grammy Award for Best Americana Album.
