NEC Composition Faculty Member Kati Agócs Nominated for Juno Award

The work nominated for Classical Composition of the Year, “Concerto for Violin and Percussion Orchestra,” was recorded and performed at NEC.

Congratulations to NEC Composition faculty member, Kati Agócs, for her 2022 Juno Award nomination for Classical Composition of the Year. She was nominated for her work “Concerto for Violin and Percussion Orchestra.”

This piece holds particular significance for the NEC community, as it was commissioned and recorded by Faculty Emeritus Frank Epstein ‘69 MM and his Percussion Ensemble at NEC, with Violin faculty member Nicholas Kitchen ‘92 AD as soloist.

The Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, the Juno Awards honor musical contributions across multiple genres each year.
