August 26, 2024

Juliano Aniceto and David Loebel

New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School is delighted to announce the appointment of Juliano Aniceto as the new Director of Orchestras. Aniceto will also take on the role of conductor for the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO), succeeding the esteemed David Loebel, who has been at the helm of YPO since 2012.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Maestro Loebel for his unwavering dedication over the past 12 years. His leadership has not only guided the YPO to extraordinary musical achievements but also profoundly impacted the lives of hundreds of young musicians. Under his baton, YPO has become a beacon of excellence, nurturing the talents and potential of the next generation of artists.

As we bid farewell to Maestro Loebel, we are excited to welcome Juliano Aniceto to the NEC Prep community. Aniceto joins us from Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to youth music education. His new role as Director of Orchestras will involve overseeing all orchestral activities at NEC Prep, working closely with our team of conductors and the Preparatory School Director.

Aniceto’s passion for artistic excellence and his innovative approach to orchestral leadership promise to elevate our ensembles to new heights. We look forward to the exciting future that lies ahead under his direction.
