What is featured on the gala digital platform?
NEC is hosting an immersive experience, featuring 3D recreations of the Jordan Hall building, NEC’s Jordan Hall, and Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre, two live streamed performances, and a showcase highlighting the creativity and resilience of our students, alumni and faculty who have continued to learn, perform, and create music both together and apart during the past year. The gala platform will also feature a photo booth where you will be able to take and download photos wearing your gala best and a chat room where you will be able to connect with other guests.
How do I access the digital platform?
To access the digital gala platform please visit: https://necvirtualgala2021.eventsibles.live/event/login.
Gala attendees: You will login in using the email that was provided to the NEC Advancement and Engagement Office. A password is not required. Only one login is allowed per email.
Individuals accessing the platform after May 12, 2021, who did not attend the gala: You will register on the login page by entering your first name, last name, and email.
How do I access the livestream concerts?
Both livestream concerts have been uploaded to the platform for guests to enjoy. To access the Jordan Hall performance from the lobby, click on the door marked Jordan Hall or the "Concert Halls" button in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Once in Jordan Hall, click on the stage and a window will pop open with the video.
To access the Plimpton Shattuck Blackbox Theatre performance from the lobby, click on the door marked Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre or the "Concert Halls" button in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Once in Black Box Theatre, click on the stage and a window will pop open with the video.
How do I access the showcase room, NEC Reimagined?
The student showcase room, NEC Reimagined, will feature performances and projects NEC students and alumni have created and been a part of over the past year. The showcase can be accessed from the main lobby, by clicking on the door marked, NEC Reimagined or by clicking the NEC Reimagined button in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
What are the technical requirements needed to access the digital platform?
For optimal viewing, it is recommended you use either a laptop or desktop computer. You may use tablets and smartphones. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are the recommended browsers to run the digital gala platform. Make sure to have a strong, reliable Wi-Fi connection by checking the signal strength in internet settings.
Can I watch the performances on my phone or tablet?
Yes, you will be able to use your phone or tablet to watch the performances.
How do I view the program?
To view the program in the platform, click on the "Program" button in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. A copy of the program will also be mailed to all registered guests who are receiving gala boxes. You may also download a PDF of the program located at the top of this web page.
There is so much great content on the platform, how long will I be able to access it?
The video content, including the two livestreamed performances in the 3D recreation of NEC’s Jordan Hall and Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre and the pictures from the photo booth, will be available on the platform for 30 days. All video content featured in the showcase, NEC Reimagined, can be accessed from the main lobby by clicking the door marked, NEC Reimagined or by using the navigation bar. The only feature on the platform that will be disabled after May 8 is the photo booth. All other content will be available until Sunday, June 6.
Will I be able to give after the gala?
Yes! To make a gift, click on Give Now button found on the navigation bar on your screen. You may also make a gift in support of scholarship at https://necmusic.edu/gala/scholarship-support.
What if I need help or guidance with the platform?
For support during the Gala, click on the chat box in the Lobby to chat with a support executive or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also contact a NEC staff member at email@example.com.
