A native of Natick, Massachusetts, Sam Thurston is a freelance trumpet player and educator who has led a rich and varied career.
Sam regularly performs with orchestras including the Lexington Symphony, Portland Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and the Vista Philharmonic. Sam also frequently performs with his brass quintet, the Amity Street Brass.
In addition to his performing career, Sam serves as Instrumental Music Director for the Plainville Public Schools, is a trumpet instructor at New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and maintains a thriving private studio in the Greater Boston area. He is also the founder and program coordinator of the Ashland Lesson Program. Sam resides in Ashland, Massachusetts, with his wife, Julia, and their son, Maxwell.
