Her performance credits include Birdland Jazz Club, Bimhuis, Disneyland, Los Angeles, Ravinia Festival, and the Newton Piano Summit, and she frequently travels between coasts to collaborate and perform with a wide range of artists. Her collaborators include GRAMMY Award-winner Neal Smith, Charlie Rosen’s GRAMMY Award-winning 8-Bit Big Band, Il Divo, Chloë Agnew of Celtic Woman, Bill Pierce, Carl Allen, and Rafael Barata. As an arranger and copyist, she has also worked with internationally acclaimed Latin American artists Andrés Cepeda and Daymé Arocena.

Liz began composing at age nine, developing her musical voice through a classical upbringing and later through intensive study of jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. Her Chinese heritage and interest in musical traditions across cultures have shaped her broad approach to rhythm and harmony, which carries into her work as an educator.

Although formally trained as a pianist, Liz has sung throughout her life and pursued private vocal study after establishing herself professionally as a pianist. Her background as a pianist, along with extensive experience collaborating with vocalists, gives her a broader perspective on the singer’s role within an ensemble. Her vocal teaching emphasizes not only technique and expression, but also the harmonic, rhythmic, and ensemble skills singers need in professional musical settings.
