Kyoko Horowitz
Education and Training
Kyoko studied at the Sibelius Academy in Finland and at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin, Germany as a member of the Artist Diploma program. A student of Tomotada Soh, her other mentors have included Stephan Picard and Igor Oistrakh, as well as Wolfgang Boettcher, Vassily Lobanov and Dmitri Ferschtmann for chamber music.
Awards and Recognition
Two time winner of the Mainichi Competition in Japan
Horowitz has performed as a soloist, both with orchestra and in recital, throughout Japan, Finland, Germany and Italy. As an orchestral musician, she was a member of the New World Symphony as one of the rotating concertmasters. She has also participated in the Pacific Music Festival, has spent three summers at the Breckenridge Festival, and has performed in various chamber orchestras throughout Europe.
