Join NEC for a conversation about Notes of Deception, the remarkable true story of four young musicians connected to New England Conservatory and the Klezmer Conservatory Band who traveled to the Soviet Union in 1985 and found themselves caught in a dangerous encounter with the KGB.
Author and NEC alumna Merryl Goldberg ’81 will be joined by Hankus Netsky for a discussion moderated by Margie Apfelbaum. Together, they’ll revisit the musicians’ journey, the extraordinary risks they took, and the intersection of music, secrecy, activism, and Cold War history.
