NEC Wind Ensemble + William Drury
Emeritus faculty member William Drury conducts the NEC Wind Ensemble in the world premiere of Stratis MinakakisVykinon with piano soloists Stephen Drury and Yukiko Takagi. Vykinon, a concerto for two pianos tuned a quarter-tone apart, wind ensemble, and percussion, was commissioned by the Callithumpian Consort in honor of Bill Drury and his years of work with New England Conservatory's Wind Ensemble and Jordan Winds, with support from donors and Bill's friends. The program also includes works by Mahler, Stanford, Tim Huling, and A Place in New England: Prelude for Auburndale by John Heiss, arranged by Ian Wiese.
