NEC New Music Ensemble + Peyton Composer-in-Residence + Asbury
NEC's New Music Ensemble, led by Stefan Asbury, joins forces with the Composition Department's 2026 Malcolm Peyton Composer-in-Residence, Colin Matthews, for an exciting evening of diverse contemporary music.

Malcolm Peyton, who passed away in January 2025, was a beloved pedagogue who joined the NEC faculty in 1965 to teach both composition and music theory. He served as chair of NEC’s Composition Department for more than 30 years, and he was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2016 in acknowledgement of the impact of his many contributions as both a composer and educator.

The live stream of this event is available to NEC Community members only. To watch the stream, please click the “Streaming Access” button at the top of the page and enter the NEC Community streaming password on the video window labeled “NEC-Produced Stream” when prompted.
