Tian's tireless energy and boundless drive to attract new audiences to classical music have brought him to a wide range of music audiences. Thinking "outside the box" and frequent steps into different musical worlds, he has shared the same stage with legendary Philip Glass, and plays concerts at the prestigious Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, as well as a special performance at the Jerry Lewis Telethon -"Stars Across America" and at a sports arena in front of 20,000 people in China. lf one word applies to Tian Jiang, to the musician, to his worldview, it is "inspirational." It resounds like a musical motif through his life and concert career. He inspires audiences with open-hearted, emotive playing.
An internationally renowned pianist, recognized for his signature colors in sound and over-the-edge thrilling virtuosity. His critically acclaimed North America debut at Carnegie Hall was praised by The New York Times as: "Shining, crisp, energetic and colorfully illuminated playing”.
Captivating audiences from North America to Europe to the Far East, Tian has been enthusiastically received in concerto appearances with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the St.Lukes Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. He is proud to be the first Chinese pianist to have toured his homeland with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on its historic visit to China in 2000. He has collaborated with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Ettore Stratta, Gerald Schwartz, Jose Luis Gomez, Rodolfo Saglimbeni, and David Navarro-Turres.
In recital, he has performed in many of the music capitals in the world. As a recording artist, Tian has 14 albums to his credit. Including a double CD album “Tian Jiang Live at Carnegie Hall - 2012 & 2013”. His original composition "Shanghai Dream" has been heralded by the World Music Reviews as "a slice of heaven”. In 2018, Tian was honored to receive the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for his outstanding service to cultural exchange programs. In 2019, Tian was invited to perform Beethoven’s "Emperor" piano concerto at Carnegie Hall as part of the 250 years of Beethoven’s celebration concert.
In the upcoming season, Tian’s concert schedule includes Europe, North America, and Asia.
