New England Conservatory welcomes legendary bassist, composer, and bandleader Dave Holland back to campus for a special residency. In this masterclass, Holland works with students who present songs for coaching, offering insight and guidance on performance, interpretation and musicianship.

Dave Holland is one of the most celebrated and influential bassists in modern jazz. A multi-Grammy Award winner, he first gained international recognition as a member of Miles Davis's groundbreaking late-1960s ensembles and has since led numerous acclaimed groups while collaborating with many of the genre’s most innovative artists. Renowned for his virtuosity, compositional voice, and adventurous spirit, Holland continues to shape contemporary jazz through his performances, recordings, and mentorship of emerging musicians.
