The New York Times called pianist Han Chen 陳涵 “with a graceful touch, rhythmic precision, hypnotic charm.” The Gramophone praised him: "One of the few pianists who handles both gnarly contemporary scores and over-the-top Romantic showpieces with equal authority and style."
Han Chen is a GRAMMY® nominee for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his recording of Florence Price's Piano Concerto in One Movement, released on Naxos Records.
The Second prize of 2022 Fou Ts’ong International Concerto Competition, the Gold Medalist at the 2013 China International Piano Competition, and a prizewinner at the 2018 Honens International Piano Competition, Han Chen has released four solo Naxos CDs focused on Liszt, Rubinstein, Adès, and Ligeti. Graduated from Juilliard, NEC, and CUNY, he will return to the Summer Concert Series 2026 at NEC 夏日系列音樂會 on Friday, Aug 7, 7:30 pm at NEC’s Williams Hall.
