The department of Contemporary Musical Arts presents 3 small ensembles in the final performances of the 2024 Fall Semester.
At 7:00p the Mande West African & Haitian Ensemble perform music of West African and Haitian history and culture.
The 8:00p CMA Early Jazz Ensemble with Anthony Coleman explores the vocabulary that formed the backbone of American culture over the last hundred years.
Then at 9:00p COBRA with Anthony Coleman performs versions of John Zorn's classic composition, "COBRA." Often called a “game piece,” it is a framework for performance, and a set of rules that organize a group of musicians into a community of sound.
