Boston Modern Orchestra Project Presents: Delight of the Muses

This program traces a century of American musical imagination through works shaped by text, narrative, and the human voice. Anthony De Ritis opens the evening with Jiggedy Jingle Jaunty, a sharp, playful take on rhythmic motion. Followed by Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, a portrait of memory and place drawn from James Agee’s prose. After intermission, BMOP plays selections from Matt Aucoin’s The No One’s Rose, a work that threads poetry and contemporary expression. The concert closes with Charles Wuorinen’s Delight of the Muses, a virtuosic homage to the modernist tradition.
