In the Wind Ensemble Conducting program, one learns not only how to conduct, but how to be a conductor. There is an emphasis on rigorous technique and study, and also on leading a life of intense intellectual curiosity. This attitude has been paramount in my professional life.

Jeffrey Means completed New England Conservatory's Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion in 2005, and went on to complete the Master of Music degree in Wind Ensemble Conducting in 2008.
He is founder and artistic director of Sound Icon, a chamber orchestra specializing in new music.
