Voice
The Voice Department provides comprehensive training for singers at every stage, combining rigorous technique with a deep understanding of language, style, and interpretation. Students study privately with renowned faculty, participate in diction and repertoire courses, and perform regularly in recitals, chamber music, and choral ensembles. This holistic approach prepares singers to thrive in diverse musical settings and sustain long-term artistic growth.

Opera
NEC’s Opera Department immerses graduate students in the full creative process of operatic performance. Through acting, movement, language study, and fully staged productions, singers gain the versatility and dramatic fluency demanded by today’s opera stages. Performances with orchestra, scene programs, and new-work workshops offer opportunities to refine both artistry and stagecraft under expert mentorship.

The Institute for Concert Artists (ICA at NEC) is home to a group of extraordinary musicians poised to launch significant careers across a diverse spectrum of genres. Concert Artists pursue earn a prestigious Artist Diploma with the support of a full-tuition scholarship and stipend, dedicated mentorship, and comprehensive career-development guidance.
