Hamamatsu International Piano Competition

The Hamamatsu International Piano Competition was established in 1991 in commemoration of the founding of Hamamatsu City, in Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture.

Prizewinners have included Rafał Blechacz and Seong-Jin Cho, among others. NEC faculty pianist Alessio Bax won the competition in 1997.
