Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition
Described by The New York Times as “the Olympics of the piano world,” the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition, first held in 1927, celebrates the oeuvre of its legendary namesake.
Prizewinners have included Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Garrick Ohlsson, and Krystian Zimerman. NEC faculty pianist Dang Thai Son won the competition in 1980.
