Celebrate International Jazz Day with this end-of-semester concert highlighting the work of Jerry Leake's World Rhythms Ensemble, Caio Afiune's Brazilian Ensemble, and Joseph Copeland's Gospel Ensemble.
This concert features a range of ensembles from the Jazz Studies program, presenting original compositions, innovative arrangements, and interpretations of jazz repertoire. The series offers audiences a chance to hear the evolving artistry of NEC’s jazz musicians in an intimate performance setting.
In November 2011, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) officially designated April 30 as International Jazz Day in order to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.
