Faculty Recital: Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol | Microtonal Bop
Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol presents his faculty recital in Jordan Hall featuring a truly diverse musical journey: classical Ottoman/Turkish repertoire, Byzantine music, and his own concert music compositions — culminating in the powerful sound of his jazz orchestra. This program will move seamlessly between modal traditions and contemporary creativity, revealing how these worlds converse through improvisation, innovation, and the unexpected connections that shape Sanlıkol’s musical life.
