NEC Philharmonia + Hugh Wolff: Mazzoli, Britten, and Strauss
Hugh Wolff and the NEC Philharmonia open tonight's program with Missy Mazzoli's Holy Roller, which she describes as "devotional music for a non-existent religion." This is followed by Benjamin Britten's Concerto No. 1 for Violin and Orchestra, op. 15 with soloist Clark Snavely '28, the winner of the Concerto Competition; the evening concludes with Strauss' tone poem, Also sprach Zarathustra.
