Kayhan Kalhor is a Grammy-winning (2017) kamancheh virtuoso and a leading figure in Persian classical music. A founding member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble and co-creator of the Persian-Indian group Ghazal, Kalhor has spent decades exploring the intersection of Persian music with other global traditions. His work extends into film scoring, including Francis Ford Coppola’s Youth Without Youth, and is featured on acclaimed albums such as Silent City and It’s Still Autumn. Kalhor’s performances are known for their emotional depth, technical mastery, and boundary-crossing creativity, offering a rare chance to experience Persian music at its most compelling.
Kiya Tabassian is a setar player, composer, and artistic director of Constantinople, the internationally acclaimed Montreal-based ensemble known for its innovative blending of early music and global traditions. Trained in Persian classical music and engaged in collaboration across cultures, Tabassian has developed a wide-ranging body of work. His notable projects include In the Footsteps of Rumi, and BACH & KHAYYAM, performed at major festivals and venues around the world.
