NEC Composers' Series: “Home” – A Journey for Cultural Identity and Belonging
Curated by recent NEC graduate, Sophia Szokolay ’19, ’25 DMA, the concert features works from the violinist’s new recording project “Home,” an exploration of cultural identity and belonging, shaped by the experiences of migration and the quest for a sense of home in the midst of dissonance. Joined in performance by current DMA candidate Janice Lu ’25 DMA, Szokolay invites several composers to reflect on their own journeys, including NEC faculty Mehmet Sanlikol and Sid Richardson, as well as NEC students.
