Join us as we continue the 41st season of First Mondays. Programs feature well-loved classics and new compositions, performed by some of the world's finest chamber musicians, free and open to all.
First Monday celebrates Gunther Schuller’s legacy with a rare performance of his quartet for four double basses. Schuller wrote the quartet as “an attempt to write a non-compromising serious piece for basses... far removed from the genre and character pieces that have weighted down the bass repertory for decades and centuries.” NEC faculty and alumni also perform together in other works on the program, including Johannes Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet.
The live stream of this event is available to NEC Community members only. To watch the stream, please click the “Streaming Access” button at the top of the page and enter the NEC Community streaming password on the video window labeled “NEC-Produced Stream” when prompted.
