Edna Anderson (Briggs)
Edna Anderson was born on December 31, 1885 and grew up in South Dakota. She came to NEC to study in 1908 and remained here for two years. While in Boston, she met her husband Walter E. Briggs who was then director of the Tufts College Glee Club and studying dentistry. In 1910 the two went to South Dakota and got married.
The couple then returned to Massachusetts and settled in Attleboro. In 1912, Briggs founded the Chaminade Club of Attleboro, named after the pianist and composer Cecile Chaminade (1857-1944). In her later years she moved to Harwich Port on Cape Cod. Mrs. Briggs passed away in November 1987, just shy of her 102nd birthday.
