New England Conservatory, located at 290 Huntington Avenue, Boston, is one block from Symphony Hall at the corner of Gainsborough Street, convenient to public transportation. Public transportation options around NEC include the Symphony stop (Green Line “E” train), the Massachusetts Avenue stop (Orange Line), or buses 1, 39, or CT1. Due to limited parking, we recommend using public transportation when possible. Streets in the neighborhood around NEC can be narrow and very busy, so please plan drop-offs accordingly and allow for additional time.

NEC Prep classes, rehearsals, and concerts take place in the Jordan Hall building, the Student Life & Performance Center, the St. Botolph building, and the 33 Gainsborough building.

Metered Parking

Very limited street parking is available on Gainsborough Street, St. Botolph Street, Huntington Avenue, and St. Stephen Street.

Handicapped Parking

There are city-designated handicapped parking spaces near NEC. Because of the large number of music and theater presentations in the area, these spaces may not be available to NEC patrons. During construction projects, some of these spaces may move or become temporarily unavailable.

  • Two spaces on Huntington Avenue outside the Cohen entrance to Symphony Hall
