2 manuscript boxes containing photographs, newspaper clippings, press releases, programs, and a little correspondence, and five CDs containing photographs.

Organizational description:

This collection covers opera performances put on by NEC under the direction of Boris Goldovsky (1942-1965), Thomas Phillips, and John Moriarty, and Greg Smucker (2010) 

Provenance:

This collection comes from three sources. Some of the photos had been stored in the NEC archives for an indefinite period of time; other materials, mainly from the 1960s, had belonged to Chester Williams (former Dean and President of NEC). These were given to NEC in 2001. Finally, other photographs were given to the archives by NEC’s Public Relations department which had been collected over the years.

Access:

Access to the NEC Opera Collection is granted by the Archivist or the Director of Libraries.  Appointments must be scheduled in advance.  There are no restrictions pertaining to this collection.
