The two NEC alumni will join soprano Hera Hyesang Park in an exciting program welcoming the Year of the Tiger.

This year’s Lunar New Year celebrations will be particularly special for two NEC alumni: violinist Stella Chen ‘16 MM Harvard/NEC and orchestral conductor Earl Lee ‘15 GD, as they make their debut with the New York Philharmonic on February 8, 2022 for the annual gala celebrating the beginning of a new year. The program led by Lee will feature Chen as soloist on Li Huanzhi’s “Spring Festival Overture,” Bizet’s “Carmen Fantasie,” and Ma Sicong’s “Nostalgia.” Soprano Hera Hyesang Park is also a featured performer on the program.

Chen was the 2019 winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition and Lee is currently Assistant Conductor at the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
