Jordan Bak and Merz Trio Win Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition

Jordan Bak ’16 (viola) and the Merz Trio (Brigid Coleridge, violin; Julia Yang, cello; Lee Dionne, piano) have won the 2019 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition. 

Winners are selected for their musical excellence as well as their “entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to make an impact in the world.” Winners receive management with Concert Artists Guild and numerous performance opportunities and showcases, as well as career development and coaching.

Bak completed his Bachelor of Music in 2016. The Merz Trio are currently trio-in-residence in NEC's Professional Piano Trio Program, under the direction of Vivian Hornik Weilerstein.

Other recent NEC winners include violinist Yoojin Jang, the Verona Quartet, Inmo Yang, and Alexi Kenney.
