BS, Nanyang Technological University; BM, Berklee College of Music; MM and DMA, New England Conservatory. He had studied under Ken Schaphorst, Ben Schwendener, John Hollenbeck, and Greg Hopkins for jazz composition; Frank Carlberg, Jerry Bergonzi, Jeff Covell, Ross Ramsay, and Russell Hoffmann for jazz piano; and John Mallia for classical composition.

Peter Jonatan is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, and pianist specializing in jazz composition. He was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. In 2009 he moved to Boston to pursue music.

Peter excels in various genres like jazz, pop, gospel, classical, and Latin. His orchestral works had been performed by Hollywood musicians, City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Scoring Orchestra, Lake Street Dive with NEC Jazz Orchestra, and Philharmonia Strings.

Besides teaching at NEC, Peter is also a faculty at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches Ear Training, and Tonal Harmony & Composition.
