November 10 – 17: NEC Festival Series: Charles Ives, Ruth Crawford Seeger, and American Musical Innovation

Taking place from November 10–17 and honoring the legacy of visionary faculty member John Heiss, NEC celebrates the 150th birthday of Charles Ives and the work of visionary composer, educator, and folklorist Ruth Crawford Seeger, with a tribute to American musical innovation.  The Festival events will will run throughout the week and will include dances with Alex Cummings and Adah Hetko,  residencies with guest artists Raven Chacon and Theo Bleckmann, concerts every night in Jordan Hall,  and four performances of the opera Later the Same Evening by John Musto and Mark Campbell in the Black Box theater.
