Sight-Singing for Singers I

This course is a critical first step for singers who wish to develop fine skill in their sight-singing.

We will focus on melodic reading skills in both tonal and atonal environments, and strive to deeply embed core skills needed for successful work in Solfege and other reading systems.

Singers are systematically taught to recognize and accurately sing all intervals, skills especially critical for working within Atonal environments, and to sing within all Major and Minor tonal frameworks. Focus is upon developing accuracy and fluency in these skill sets, and breaking them down to manageable, weekly tasks.

Students are expected to spend 2-3 hours weekly in preparation for class activities.
