Vocal Performance

Prescreening repertoire requirements are the same as for the live audition; recordings will not be reviewed if repertoire is incomplete or substitutions are made. Please upload your prescreening recording files as part of your online application. After review, qualified applicants will be invited to present a live audition at NEC.

Bachelor of Music Applicants:

1. One art song in English
2. One art song in Italian
3. One art song in a language of the applicant’s choice

Please note that arias will not be accepted.

In addition to the listed repertoire requirements, applicants are welcome to include a song performed in their native language, particularly if their first language is not English. We value the authenticity and expressiveness that come from performing in a familiar language. This selection is optional and will be considered part of your overall repertoire submission.

Harvard/NEC and BM Transfer Applicants:

1. One art song in Italian
2. One art song in French
3. One art song in German
4. One art song in English
5. Optional: One oratorio aria
