Sarah Flanagan (she/her and they/them) is a freelance Fight Director and Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD).  Sarah is also the Coordinator of the annual National Stage Combat Workshop, the largest workshop of its kind in the world. Here at the New England Conservatory, Sarah teaches stage combat classes in the Opera Performance graduate program.

Sarah lives and works primarily in New England, though this past year has seen them working for theatres and universities in Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, and Louisiana. Traveling for so many months was exciting, but they’re glad to be solidly back in the Greater Boston Area this semester!  Sarah choreographs fights, sfx, and movement sequences for plays, musicals, and ballets.  They have begun making forays into film and stunt work. When not on the road with a carful of swords and her trusty dog, you are mostly likely to find her out on the water in their kayak, or up a tree with a book.
