Winter Weather Alert: Tuesday, December 3, 2019

Dear members of the NEC community,

Due to ongoing inclement weather, NEC will delay opening today:

-Classes will begin at 12pm (noon). Classes starting prior to noon will be cancelled.
-Offices and departments will open at 12pm (noon). 
-The Blumenthal Family Library will open at 12pm (noon).
-The Computer Lab will open at 12pm (noon).
-Rebecca's Cafe will operate normal dining hours.

Building status:
-Jordan Hall, the St. Botolph Building, and 33 Gainsborough Street are closed and will reopen at 11am.

We encourage members of our community to be mindful of varying conditions and to use discretion when planning travel to and from campus.

Winter Weather Alert: Monday, December 2, 2019

Dear members of the NEC community,

With winter weather conditions forecast to affect travel this evening, we are writing to share an update about the status of campus operations and activities for the remainder of the day. 

We will be closing many campus operations at 6pm today.

  • Classes that begin at 6pm and later will be cancelled.
  • Evening Continuing Education classes and lessons will be cancelled.
  • The First Mondays concert scheduled for 7:30pm will be postponed, with the possibility of being rescheduled for another date.
  • The Contemporary Improvisation concerts scheduled for Pierce Hall will be postponed, with the possibility of being rescheduled for another date.
  • The Blumenthal Family Library will close at 6pm.
  • The Computer Lab will close at 6pm.
  • Rebecca's Cafe will operate normal dining hours.

Building status:

  • The St. Botolph building will close at 6pm.
  • Jordan Hall will be open for practicing, normal hours.
  • 33 Gainsborough Street will be open for practicing, normal hours.

The safety of our community is our foremost priority, and we encourage students, faculty, and staff to be mindful of their own circumstances when traveling to and from campus. 

We are continually monitoring weather conditions and will share additional updates should conditions warrant.
