Student Recital Reservations

Spring 2021

Recital scheduling has concluded for the spring, 2021 semester. Information on recital scheduling for the fall 2022 semester will be available shortly.

Thank you to all students who worked so diligently in conjunction with so many challenging variables to present 20-21 recitals. We greatly appreciate your flexibility, patience, and ingenuity.

For the Spring semester, student recital availability will be limited to degree required recitals only.  Due to the limitations placed on NEC facilities due to COVID-19, optional recitals will not be scheduled for the Spring semester at this time.

All recitals will be required to conform to distancing, timeframe, and venue restrictions based on COVID-19 health and safety standards.  Please see details below for more information.

Recitals must be reserved a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of your preferred recital date.  All recital requests will be honored on a first come, first served basis.  Every effort will be made to honor your date, time, and location requests.

If your degree required recital was cancelled as part of NEC's campus-wide COVID-19 shutdown between March-May, 2019, please contact the Scheduling Office to review options for reprogramming your recital.

Please allow 48 business hours for your recital reservation request to be processed.

Guidelines for Vocalists

Singers who are performing only with a pianist may sing without a mask as long as there is compliance with distancing and timing. Singers who are performing as part of an ensemble are required to wear masks for a performance with the same guidelines as rehearsals. Please check with the Emergency Response team to request permission and confirm the specific details.

guest performers

If you would like to invite a guest to perform on your recital, please contact Provost Tom Novak by email to gain approval. No external guests will be permitted on campus without prior approval. If approved, guests must have COVID-19 testing completed 72 hours prior to arrival at NEC. Upon arrival, guests must present their negative results to security either on paper or on a smartphone.

Please note that total ensemble size for student recitals is limited to 8 persons maximum (including soloist.)

AUDIO & Video RECORDING, LIVESTREAMING, and RPTS SERVICES

Recording and Performance Technology Services (RPTS) will be recording audio and video and providing livestreaming for all required on-campus recitals taking place during officially scheduled recital times. Students may also make use of self-service equipment in performance halls.

Alternatively, students may use their own equipment, or engage an outside engineer to record for you.  No guests will be permitted on campus without prior approval (as per the guest performers section above).

Please contact RPTS directly for all questions regarding recital audio/visual services, fees, and scheduling.

Dress rehearsals in the reserved recital venue will be limited to 60 minutes maximum (with appropriate breaks for Group 2 designations). Please use the Student Room Reservations Form to submit requests for on-campus dress rehearsals.

AUDIENCE ALLOWANCES

The maximum audience size for student recitals is informed by the size of your performance hall, and is based on group type and instrumentation.  Actual audience size will be further determined by equipment needs, ensemble sizes, and program setup.
