NEC Singers Populate Boston Opera Scene

From Ouroboros to Rosenkavalier, NEC singers can be heard in big Boston productions.

As casting details emerge, names of NEC singers appear throughout major opera productions coming up in Boston this fall.

The Ouroboros Trilogy, presented by ArtsEmerson at the Cutler Majestic Theatre September 10–17, is an immersive cycle of operas that can be experienced as a package or singly. Two of the three operas were workshopped at NEC last fall (more about this), and music for Naga was composed by alumnus Scott Wheeler '78 M.M. The vocal ensemble includes Christine Duncan '01 Prep, Jessica Jacobs '04 Prep, Isabella Dawis, Abigail Krawson '11 M.M., Andrea Wozniak '17 M.M., Christina English '07 M.M., Kelsey Harrison '15 M.M., Elijah Blaisdell '14 M.M., and Thomas Hamilton '17 M.M. In addition, two of last year's workshop participants are covering roles: Celeste Godin '15 M.M., '16 G.D. is covering the role of Ku in Gilgamesh, and Elisa Sunshine '15 M.M., '16 G.D. is covering the role of Madame White Snake in Naga.
