At This Competition Held in Hartford
Run by the Connecticut Chopin Foundation since 2010, the VIII Chopin International Piano Competition took place in Hartford, March 9–12. Prize winners from New England Conservatory are both students of Mana Tokuno. Aya Nishimura was one of 15 Third Prize winners in the Junior category, for pianists up to 12 years old. Avik Sarkar was one of four Third Prize winners in the Young Artist category, for pianists up to 17 years old.
