Morningside Music Bridge Comes to NEC
In its first summer at NEC, this month of intensive solo and chamber music study and performance celebrates its 21st year.
The 21st Morningside Music Bridge program will be held at New England Conservatory from July 6 to August 4, 2017. Presented in partnership with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), the program features distinguished faculty and alumni — now international musical leaders — to help inspire the world’s next generation of great artists.
The primary objective of the program is to identify and promote outstanding young artists; create enhanced educational and performance opportunities; create enhanced professional development opportunities for music educators; promote intercultural understanding and mutual respect among all participants; expand community and corporate-based support for cultural interaction in the participating countries; develop long-term partnerships between classical music communities internationally; build a bridge of understanding and creativity that spans the world.
This summer, the program showcases 18 free concerts at NEC’s Jordan Hall and Brown Hall. Music lovers are invited to experience and witness the discovery of the next generation of classical musicians.
Morningside Music Bridge embodies the highest international standards of excellence in training, bringing together outstanding young violin, viola, cello, and piano students aged 12 to 18 for a month of intensive study and extensive solo and chamber music performance opportunities.The young musicians perform in memorable concert halls; take part in Morningside Music Bridge’s prestigious concerto competition and chamber music concerts, and bond with one another through the exquisite language of music.
