Cancelled | Larkins Brass Honors Ensemble Recital

NEC: Jordan Hall | Directions

290 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA

The NEC Honors Ensembles are selected each year by competitive audition for their extraordinary artistic accomplishment and commitment to work together.

Larkins Brass is comprised of Chris Boulais and Bret Magliola, trumpets, Drew Truskowski, horn, Aneesh Kumar, trombone and Colin Benton, tuba.

Formed in 2018, the group met while pursuing their master’s degrees at the New England Conservatory. With a shared vision to reimagine the role of a brass quintet through inventive programming, collaboration with local composers and community engagement, Larkins Brass hopes to create a concert experience that’s just as fun as the times they have together.

Selected to participate in the inaugural Boston Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet Seminar, Larkins Brass has been coached by various members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, including Ben Wright, Rachel Childers, James Markey and James Sommerville.

Larkins Brass was selected as an Honors Chamber Ensemble at the New England Conservatory for the 2019 academic year, making them the first brass quintet in almost twenty years to receive this honor. The group would like to thank the New England Conservatory chamber music faculty for this honor and the incredible opportunity to share their passion for brass music with the world.
