Cancelled | Trio Sol Honors Ensemble

The NEC Honors Ensembles are selected each year by competitive audition for their extraordinary artistic accomplishment and commitment to work together.

Trio Sol, based in Boston, formed in the fall of 2019 and met at the New England Conservatory and the YellowBarn Festival. Trio Sol is dedicated to exuberant and colorful playing embraced by warmth and wholehearted sincerity. Their name is taken from Latin "Sol" - the sun, which is an apt description of each member's character and their music-making.  Trio Sol was selected to be part of NEC’s Honors Chamber Music program and they will make their Jordan Hall debut in May of 2020 amongst other venues in the greater Boston area, such as Boston Public Library, Fox Hill Village, First Armenian Church, Wollaston Congregational Church. 

They are deeply indebted to their work at NEC with their mentors include Vivian Weilerstein, Donald Weilerstein, Paul Katz, and Merry Peckham. Sammy is finishing the last year of his Bachelor of Music degree and Alice is onto her last year of residency as a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate. Yunwen is a first-year Graduate Diploma student. They enjoy cooking, reading, hiking and traveling.
