String Quartet Celebration: Ariel & Verona Quartets

| New England Conservatory: Jordan Hall

NEC celebrates its String Quartet Program with three concerts in one week. The Ariel Quartet returns to NEC for a concert with the current quartet in the program, the Verona Quartet.

Current string-quartet-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati, the Ariel Quartet start with Beethoven's graceful quartet before contrasting it with Janácek's dark and intense "Kreutzer Sonata" quartet.

The director of the Quartet Program, Paul Katz, joins the current string quartet in the Quartet Program and Concert Artists Guild member, the Verona Quartet, to end the String Quartet celebration with Schubert's Cello Quintet.

Both quartets graduated from NEC's selective and intensive Professional String Quartet Training Program, led by NEC cello faculty and founding member of the Cleveland Quartet, Paul Katz.

Three Jordan Hall concerts in celebration of NEC's 150 anniversary:
