Intro to Harmony at the Piano, Private Lessons

Harmony at the Piano is a hands-on musicianship class for students eager to expand their understanding of harmony, melody, and form. Students will develop their ears, sight-reading skills, compositional skills, and theoretical knowledge.

The class is modeled after Nadia Boulanger’s work at the Paris Conservatory. Each student progresses at his/her/their own pace in a comfortable, low-key, studio-like environment. The class will be held each semester and may be taken an unlimited number of times.

This introductory level is designed for students who are relatively new to the piano, or for those who do not yet read bass clef fluently. It may be taken concurrently with Music Theory & Literacy.

(For students with significant piano experience, please consider Harmony at the Piano Workshop.)
