Too Hot to Handel

There is a wide range of operas that may never see their way to a full production at NEC, but that can be sampled in the intimate, showcase setting of an opera scenes evening. These concerts display the work that goes on daily in NEC's Vocal Arts program, as faculty prepare student singers for performing careers. NEC's Chair of Opera Studies Joshua Major, in addition to directing some of the fully staged opera productions at NEC, oversees these evenings of scenes and arias throughout the year.

Tonight's program, featuring graduate vocal students, offers an all Handel bill full of arias by that most revered composer. Over the course of the two performances, this evening, and Sunday December 9, every graduate voice student will perform. What a treat!
