
Private classical and jazz instruction is offered at all levels by our highly qualified and experienced Continuing Education faculty. Lessons are available in voice and most instruments including classical guitar. Private instruction is also offered in composition, conducting, jazz arranging, music theory, music sight reading, orchestration and music technology.

All private lessons for School of Continuing Education credit require special approval and in-person registration in Room 120, 241 St Botolph Street.
After being placed with a private teacher, the student must confirm with that teacher the length and number of lessons they will receive.
Students must register for for-credit private lessons in person at the CE office located at 241 St. Botolph, Rm. 120. Non-credit private lessons are available through online registration.
Private Lesson Fees
Non-credit: (some instructors' fees may be higher)
60-minute lessons: $103.00/lesson
45-minute lessons: $77.25/lesson
30-minute lessons: $51.50/lesson
School of Continuing Education Credit: (some instructors' fees may be higher)
4 CE credits: $2400 for 15 hours of instruction
3 CE credits: $1800 for 11.25 hours of instruction
2 CE credits: $1200 for 7.5 hours of instruction

Recitals
SCE Students are encouraged to perform in masterclasses and recitals that occur throughout the academic year. Students enrolled in private lessons also have the option of performing a solo or shared recital at the end of the academic year, upon the recommendation of their private teacher(s). Certificate students are required to perform a solo recital as a capstone experience.
