On September 26th, 2011, Music History Department Chair Katarina Markovic collaborated with the NEC Philharmonia to present the modern premiere of the first version of Gustav Mahler's first symphony. The concert included a lecture-demonstration by Professor Markovic, with the participation of the whole orchestra, and involved projection of images from the Mahler manuscript on a screen above the stage in Jordan Hall. The performing score was produced by Kristo Kondakci, NEC ’13, a student of Professor Markovic. Click here for a review of the concert and presentation.
