In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of German composer Paul Hindemith's death, the Nix Ensemble will present a program of all Hindemith works, featuring the rarely performed Trio, op. 47, for Heckelphone, viola and piano. Audience members will have the opportunity to participate in the reading of a virtually unknown comic play by the composer, and the Nix Ensemble will present works from Hindemith's vast output that reveal the humorous side of his music. The concert is free and open to the public. Come experience the ingenious music and outrageous humor of composer Paul Hindemith, and enjoy German pastries and refreshments!

Gwen Buttemer, bass oboe
Maureen Heflinger, viola
