Show Boat Music Director in IRNE Awards Sweep

Charles Peltz, Director of Wind Ensemble Activities at New England Conservatory, was named Best Music Director, Large Stage for his work on Show Boat at Boston's Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards, announced April 24. Fiddlehead Theatre Company's production of the classic Kern/Hammerstein musical ran last summer at Boston's Shubert Theatre, and swept the IRNE Awards in the Large Stage category, with nods for Best Musical, Director, Ensemble, and Set Design, in addition to Peltz's Music Director award.

Back in December, veteran Boston theatre critic Iris Fanger praised this production in a TheaterMania roundup of "12 Standout Shows of 2016 From Across America," calling it "a heartfelt revival … stuffed with the best talents … that money can buy." Read the full article.
