NEC Singers Shine at Songfest
Six singers from Carole Haber's studio awarded prizes.
New England Conservatory singers who study with Carole Haber, occupant of the Wendy Shattuck Chair in Voice , took home an impressive array of prizes at last weekend’s National Association of Teachers of Singers (NATS) regional Songfest . The annual event provides opportunities for students to audition for written comments, monetary prizes and encouragement medals as well as some special awards. Haber students won all three prizes in both the undergraduate and graduate singer divisions. Bravi to all six students!
Division 2 (Undergraduates only , ages 18-22)
1st place- Riley Vogel ‘15
2nd place- Anne Hruskoci ‘15
3rd place- Sara Law ‘15
Division 3 (Graduate singers)
1st- Jun Han Choi ’15 G.D.
2nd- Ah Young Jeong ’15 M.M.
3rd- Min Young Cho ’15 M.M.
In addition, Jun Han Choi won the special award for best German Lied performance.
Songfest was held on Saturday November 1 and Sunday, November 2 at the Boston Conservatory.
